Background
ASTRIK International has a sub-subsidiary training Centre (ASTC), which was established in offering various professional training which are internationally recognized including Contract Management (FIDIC modules of Contracts, Project Management Professional, PMP®, Road Safety and Audit, HDM4 for Maintenance management, Pavement construction and rehabilitation techniques (recycling technology), Labour based technology, Traffic modelling and simulations etc. The Centre has entered into partnerships with highly recognized International Organizations/Institutions, which operate at the forefront of technical excellence in developing infrastructure solutions around the world and capacity building.
Job Brief Overview
Astrik Training Centre is looking for a high caliber Director of Training Centre (DTC) who will manage and develop all learning Program mainly on the engineering industries that meet market needs. To oversee Program implementation and assess its outcomes. To identify training and developmental needs and drive suitable training initiatives. Monitor training program effectiveness, manage budgets and stay updated on all training needs in the engineering sector. The DTC will report directly to the Managing Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily activities of training center
- Conducts performance evaluations and address all participants’ needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Search for the participants from various sectors to attend the ASTC training programs
- Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry
- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job/market analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with ASTRIK’s Partners and potential clients
- Understand clients’ training requirements and advise on the most appropriate solutions.
- Identify training and development needs through training needs analysis
- Identify potential Renowned Trainer /Institution/organization globally to work with ASTRIK training Centre for Design blended training materials, courses and programs and produce related training materials.
- Responsible for aligning training to market need
- Plan the annual training programs and related applicate fees.
- Deploy a wide variety of training methods
- Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness and success
- Prepare and Manage training budget
- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
- Partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement relevant capacity building trainings.
- Develop the market strategies to disseminated the developed training program in Rwanda and the Region
- Strive for the expansion of the Training services and facilities
- Any other duties commensurate with the post that could be reasonably required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluent in English, knowledge of French is added advantage
- Marketing skill and Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
- Commitment persuasive, convincing, and negotiation skills.
- Advance computer and database skills
- Proven experience in academic sector
Education and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Business management, Educations
- At least Five years of experience as Trainer/Lecturer/ or Manager of training Centre with two year of Leadership experience required
